The Montenegro Court of Appeals has denied Do Kwon’s extradition order, citing reasons of ambiguity surrounding the extradition request.
The Appeals Court of Montenegro has overturned the high court’s ruling on Terra founder Do Kwon’s extradition to either the U.S. or South Korea.
As per the official release on December 19, the Appellate Court of Montenegro has granted the appeal from defense attorneys of Do Kwon and overturned the High Court’s extradition ruling.
The appeals court’s decision followed the approval of Kwon’s extradition request by the Montenegro high court on November 24. Kwon had previously appealed this decision earlier this month.
Upon reconsideration, the panel of the Court of Appeals found that the High Court’s decision lacked clear and decisive reasoning, leading to its revocation. According to an official statement, the case has been sent back for retrial.
